One Beethoven quote and Ustad Faiyaz Khan

"What you are, you are by accident of birth; what I am, I am by myself. There are and will be a thousand princes; there is only one Beethoven" - Beethoven

How can we say all the 'quotable' quotes being attributed to great men of the past were exactly said by them? For instance, I don't want to believe that the 18th century German composer had said something parallel to the above quoted 'self- appreciation' though if someone else say the same on him could have been nothing less than a true statement.

I was listening to a number of tracks of Ustad Faiyaz Khan this morning like Bhairavi, Todi, Nat Behag, Darbari, Purbi, Puriya, Paraj, Khamaj, Jaunpuri and Jaijaiwanti.
What is said about Beethoven is truly quotable for Faiyaz Khan as well. He was the most wanted performer in most of the royal courts of North India more than three decades and 'there were thousands of princes and there was only one Faiyaz Khan'

Please listen to 'More Mandire'....in Rag Jaijaiwanti
